Tribes 2 VR Mod
Play Tribes 2 in virtual reality, with motion controllers and the speed intact.
An unofficial fan mod that puts the classic Tribes 2 into VR. It is built for the community-run Tribes 2 install and works with OpenVR/SteamVR, so it runs on a PC headset or on a Quest through Virtual Desktop or Link.
What it does
- Stereo 3D with head tracking, so you look around the battlefield the way you would in person
- Motion-controller aiming, with the weapon in your hand
- A steady stream of quality-of-life updates, shipped as numbered builds
- Skiing and jetting still feel like Tribes, because the movement is the whole point
Getting it
Releases and install notes are on the project’s GitHub page. You will need your own copy of Tribes 2.
Where it is going
The roadmap includes two-handed weapon grips, per-weapon grip positions, vehicle support, holstering and grabbing, and full-body tracking.
